All of the volunteer firemen are excited about the fact that this year will be our 125th year. To celebrate, the firemen have made arrangements to have a much larger Masquerade Ball this year. So mark your calendar for October 24th and plan to attend. They have booked a very popular band “Eclipse” to entertain everyone. They will also be having a special dinner and other entertainment in honor of their achievement before the dance. In conjunction with this event they are kicking off a fundraiser today to raise funds for equipment needs of the Department. They are going to be selling raffle tickets with the prizes to be: Remington Model 700 CDL Rifle, a Remington Premier 12ga OU Shotgun with special one of a kind laser engraving on the stock to commemorate the Scotland Department. Also there will be a $1,000 Kline’s Jewelry Gift Card. There is a limited number of tickets being sold by our Firemen starting today. All of these fine prizes will be given away on October 24, 2009 at our Masquerade Ball and Dinner. To insure that you get the number of tickets you want, purchase yours today, from any of the Scotland Firemen.

The Scotland Youth Center needs your help! This is a non-profit organization that will be opening September 2, 2008 for the Scotland youth ages 8-18. We are collecting aluminum cans to recycle as an ongoing fundraiser. The collection point will be west of the New York Life office on Main Street. Just bag your cans up and throw them into the collection bin. We challenge the residents and businesses of Scotland and surrounding communities to make our community eco-friendly in addition to helping out our youth. If you have any questions or need assistance getting your recyclables to the drop point please contact Shelly Fanning at 4766 or Erin Odens at 2349. Thank you for your support.
